Under the Control of Asbestos Regulations, if you own, occupy, manage or have responsibilities for premises which may contain asbestos, you will either have:
A legal duty to manage the risk from this material; or a duty to co-operate with whoever manages that risk.
AMS can assist the client and set out in detail a plan, on how the risk of asbestos can be managed within the property. This will include a comprehensive survey report, where the location of asbestos materials will be identified and a risk assessment of the condition with recommendations for future management.
AMS surveys are carried out in accordance with guidelines issued in the HSE publication MDHS 100 (Method for Determination of Hazardous Substances). Specialising in type 3 surveys on buildings requiring major refurbishment or demolition, our highly experienced surveyors have attained the NEBOSH P402 qualification, which is the recognised standard for asbestos surveying works.
AMS also provides a user-friendly survey report. This is tailor-made to meet the client’s requirements with electronic and hard copies issued. All asbestos survey reports include an asbestos register, with photographs and a plan of the property identifying the location of the material. This will be available for easy cross-referencing offering immediate and long term recommendations.
If a full building survey is not required, AMS can undertake a site visit, and carry out a series of individual samples, to ascertain the presence of asbestos. Asbestos samples are analysed by an independent UKAS accredited laboratory and the results passed to the client.
